"I've always been interested in vintage fashion and Old Hollywood glamour, but I didn't start dressing the part until began researching for my vintage-themed wedding. I found so many wonderful online resources for women who were into vintage style, and as I watched the hair and makeup tutorials and started ordering the pinup clothes, I slowly gained the confidence to style myself in sort of a 40's-50's hybrid fashion. I began wearing this style to work, and the compliments started pouring in! There is just some magical allure about this golden age. Whether the look is flirtatious and sweet, polished and feminine, or sultry and smoldering, midcentury style so classic, so elegant, and so timeless.

The pinup look certainly lends itself well to flattering us curvy girls. When I was younger, I was very uncomfortable with my curves and often wound up hiding them. It didn't help that the fashions of the time were quite boxy and unflattering. Then I discovered the pinup style and made it my own. I gained so much more confidence and became proud of my curves for the first time. That's not to say I don't still find fault with my figure and appearance; every woman does. But I have become happy in my skin.

I even managed to screw up the courage to do a pinup shoot as a wedding present to my husband. To my surprise, a photo from that shoot was chosen by the photographer to appear in a pinup magazine! I had never in my wildest dreams entertained the notion of being a model, but when I saw that magazine I thought, why can't I be a pinup model? And I haven't looked back since!"
