For those of you curvy fashionistas in Melbourne if you're in the know you were probably already at the amazing plus size fashion show that was the Curvy Couture Roadshow!
It was a fantastic afternoon full of beautiful designs, gorgeous models and a thrilled crowd of stylish onlookers.
It was a fantastic afternoon full of beautiful designs, gorgeous models and a thrilled crowd of stylish onlookers.
The event was hosted at the very cool North Melbourne venue The Meat Market Pavillion and the doors opened at noon to a huge crowd that had been gathering outside and stretched down the block and around the corner.
The only hiccup of the day was the bottleneck at the check-in entrance holding up the crowd a bit, but considering the huge turn out and this event being the first of it's kind and magnitude it's not all that surprising that it took a bit to get through the door.
Once inside though it was a plus size shoppers dream!
The various designers showcased in the show had stalls set up in the market for eager shoppers to get their hands on. Some with clothes you could walk away with that day, and others taking orders for the new seasons fashions.
Stalls were open before and after the shows and during the brief 15 minute breaks between the catwalk sessions.
I made my way around to a few of the stalls checking in with a few of my favorites that I was eager to see. Bombshell Vintage had their new collection of vintage inspired dresses, Beyond The Sea their amazing retro swimwear, one of my new favs The Professeurs Daughter had some stellar designs on offer and the marketplace was bustling as we started to make our way into the stage area.
The show was broken up into 4 different sections and each section featured around 5 designers collections. As there was so much to see and share I'll be braking up this blog posting into 4 different posts to give each section of the show full attention and share the designs with you over the course of this week.
I grabbed my camera and squeezed into the media section at the end of the runway as the lights dimmed and the show began.
Our host for the event was the luscious singer Casey Donovan, who in addition to showing off many of the designs also graced us with her rockin pipes as she sang us out of the show for a closing the brought the house down! But I'm getting ahead of myself! In the words of Julie Andrews in Sound Of Music "Let's start at the very beginning...a very good place to start!"
Robyn Lawley Swimwear kicked the show off on the right foot!
Suit after suit coming down the runway looked great on the beautiful and curvy models.
The ruched red bikini top and capri pants towards the end of the collection might have been my fav, of course that could have something to do with how fab the attitude of the model was.
Loved the retro inspired hair for the models in this collection as well.
Beyond The Sea was next up and wowed with every retro inspired swimsuit.

The colors and paterns were all bright and playful and of course you know me, I'm a sucker for a cute retro swim suit. I've been searching for ages to find cute suits I love and I saw so many I would have happily donned at the pool this summer.
Meri By Design sent some AMAZING looks down the catwalk.
Can't wear horizontal stripes if you're plus sized? Me thinks not!
Great cuts, colors and textures at every turn!
Not a gal there who couldn't have found something to add to her fall wardrobe.
The Models looked absolutely lovely and I loved this black caftan with her long flowing hair...such a pretty look.
Last looks of the first show we some great designs by Belladonna.
Great block colors and geometric designs.
Beautiful autumn rusts and plums worked beautifully with the slim leg pants and flowy tops.
If you liked your peek into the Curvy Couture Roadshow keep your eyes here for the next 3 installments to see even more of the amazing styles!
